Da Omlits - Los Angeles 1986

The Omlits sound like a poor mans Flipper or a less musical version of the Germs Live At The whiskey 1977. The main person in the band was Robert Omlit who was one of the original Kids In The Black Hole of the Adolescents song fame. The Omlits never released any records but a couple of cassettes were released in the early 1980s. These shows are both audience recordings. The Hart Park show is an acoustic outdoor show. Sound quality on both shows is good. Can anyone help with song titles?

  2. These recordings are from 1986 and feature and line up of Da Omlits with Rob't on vocals and bass, Rozann on drums, Kree P. Omlit (me) on guitar. I did sing on "Real Man" and "Egg The Queen" – songs which I wrote at the encouragement of my brother Rob't. We were a fun group who enjoyed jamming and eating pies together. We weren't as seriously bad ass punk as the earlier versions of the group, but we definitely had punk things to convey in our music. When Rob't asked me to join the band in the fall of 1984, I could barely play guitar and at the first practice – Kirby (a real kick ass punk guitar player) heard me play one song and said something to the effect "This is a joke. I fucking quit!" I didn't blame her. After that, I tried to learn as quickly as possible. We had a good time and played a lot of benefits for good causes.
