Both of these shows are audience recordings. I got them from one of the guys involved in taping them. One of the guys kept the originals and he first copied them onto 8-track tape and from that onto cassette tape. So my tape is 3rd generation. There's no date on the tape only that it's from Max's during the long hair days. The first song of the first show has been posted on Youtube by Johnny Blitz and he dates the show to the date I am using. The second show is on the same tape but must be from later in 1977 because they plays the songs in the order of how they appear on the album and someone in the audience is yelling for them to play Anarchy In The UK to which Stiv replies Johnny Rotten is in the audience. So, this show must be from CBGB sometime around the time the first album was released in October. Anyone else have any ideas? Sound quality is good on both.

ReplyDeleteNice!
thank you so much!
ReplyDeletei would have thought the first time Johnny Rotten had been to America was with the Pistols in Jan 78. The next time was 1980 with Pil wasn't it? so if Stiv says Rotten is in the audience he's either bullshitting or this show is 1980...does anyone else agree with that?
